Biography of Photographer Charles Fields:
Charles Fields is a native of Wallingford, Connecticut, and was educated in the photographic department of Paier College of Art in Hamden, CT. For the past three decades, Fields has continued to perfect both his photographic eye and technique. Adept at traditional and digital imaging, he has established himself as one of New England's foremost photographers. Professionally, Fields has been influenced by the work of photographers Henri Carrier-Bresson, Sebastiao Salgado and others. In shaping his craft, Fields' professional experience includeda stint as a sports photographer and he is sought after for his expertise in shooting aerial images, commercial catalogues and calendars.
Fields has exhibited his photographs in numerous juried shows and in galleries throughout the northeast. He has also received a special recognition for his photographic work documenting the restoration ofthe Statue of Liberty, which illustrates the monument's magnificent restoration. Fields' cameras and tripod have seen the seven continents and his prolific and remarkable collection of worldwide images could easily fill a gazetteer.
Prior to moving to Provincetown in 2000, Fields owned and operated a commercial photography studio in his native Wallingford. In 2000, he founded the Fields Gallery and Fields Photography & Publishing in Provincetown. Using the Gallery as his home base, Fields endeavors to continue widening his repertoire of Cape & Islands photography throughout the seasons for his original series of coffee table books featuring the region he calls home. In 2002, he published the premier edition of Provincetown and the National Seashore, a hardbound,144-page pictorial essay, and his Provincetown 2003 wall calendar.
In November 2003, Cape Cod and the National Seashore: A Photographic Essay debuted. This opus represents Fields' Cape Cod his personal and unique connection to the land and people met along his way discovering it. The book also represents Fields' experiences in his own 'back yard.' This photographic sojourn will delve viewers visually and emotionally into Cape Cod's past and present, genuinely capturing its singular lifestyle, the majesty of its beauty and mystery contained within its incomparable landscapes. He also photographed 388 color images for Graced by Lace: A Guide for Collectors of Antique LinenLace, a book by Debra Bonito.
In addition to these endeavors, Fields also conducts photography workshops from time to time in various locations. His memberships include the Provincetown Art Association Museum, Photographic Arts Collective, Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England (CIPNE) and the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP). Fields lives, with his artist wife Gail Rogers Fields, in North Truro, MA.

Gail Fields, Art Director of Charles Fields Photography, is a successful painter and graphic design artist with a degree from the renowned Parson's School of Design. Born in New York City, Gail has spent most of her career studying and teaching painting in Connecticut while refining her expertise in state-of-the-art graphic design. She is a commissioned artist, with three of her works now part of the U.S.Coast Guard permanent collection in Washington, D.C. She has also received special recognition for other work, including prizes for painting and underwater photography.
As an artist, Gail's graphic design background has had a major impact on her work, especially her landscape and nature painting compositions. She credits many greats for influencing her sense of style and color including Vermeer, Van Gogh, Wyeth, and O'Keefe.
Like many working artists, Fields is always looking to find more time to paint. She remains very busy managing her graphic design firm, Ingenuity Plus, co-owned with her husband, Charles Fields.
